I have worked as a stop smoking advisor since 2009 and took on the role of Practitioner in 2017. I jointly manage the day-to-day operational running of the service as well as overseeing some of the projects.

I am proud to work within this team, who are always welcoming and keen to help you to quit smoking. I have seen how quitting smoking can have an incredible impact on someone’s life with many benefits.

People quit for all sorts of reasons and when you’re ready to take that step we will be here to help, providing support that has shown to be the most effective way of quitting smoking.

I joined the Stop Smoking Team in 2018 after 12 years spent working in the voluntary sector. I work alongside our other Practitioner to manage the service day-to-day, with responsibility for overseeing our specialist projects which support people who may find it more challenging to quit smoking.

People often tell us that quitting smoking is one of the most difficult things they’ve ever attempted. Our (very friendly!) team are there to support people through this process and evidence shows that using the support and advice we offer is significantly more effective than going it alone.

We feel passionately about the difference we can make to people’s lives and encourage everyone who wants to quit to get in touch with our service.

I have worked as a Stop Smoking Advisor since 2012.  I offer two, face-to-face clinics and one evening telephone clinic each week, offering one-to-one support and advice to anyone wanting to quit smoking.

My specialist area is Electronic Cigarettes (or E-cigarettes). This project looks at new developments in the area of e-cigarettes and their use in a quit attempt. We are already an e-cigarette friendly service. This means we will support those who choose to purchase and use an e-cigarette, either on its own or alongside licensed stop smoking medications that we provide as part of their quit attempt.

As an ex-smoker who used the service to quit, I am passionate about helping smokers through the journey of quitting and enjoying a happy, healthy, smoke-free life

I have worked for the Stop Smoking Service for just over 8 years. My work involves forming links with Midwifes and Health Visitors across the Boroughs and supporting other health professionals who give advice and support around smoking, in particular around smoking in pregnancy.

I also run 1-2-1 appointments, one of these is a late night clinic each week.

When you are ready to quit smoking, I look forward to meeting you.

I have a background in Substance Misuse and have always enjoyed working in a health setting. A dream of mine was to work in Public Health, so this role is really special for me and the best part of my job is making a difference in people’s lives.

In my previous role I have written and delivered various training packages for professionals and delivered educational workshops and groups for young people across Luton.

In my current role I run face-to-face clinics in Dunstable and Bedford, as well as providing telephone support. I love supporting people to make positive changes which can lead to a healthier lifestyle.

I especially enjoy attending local events as this gives me the opportunity to meet new people and help raise awareness of tobacco and our friendly service.

I also co-ordinate the Acute Project, so I am the primary contact for the 3 local hospitals (Bedford, Milton Keynes and Luton & Dunstable), plus I specialise in ensuring our work reaches those with long-term conditions.

I have been a Stop Smoking Advisor since 2016 and offer both face to face and telephone support clinics within the three local authorities. I also co-ordinate the Children & Young Peoples project within the Stop Smoking Services, working in partnership with other Children & Young Peoples organisations to spread the word about the dangers of smoking.

I can honestly say I feel very passionate about the work I do. It’s all very close to my heart: building people’s confidence, supporting and encouraging them to make those big changes in their lives to go on and live a smoke free healthier, and hopefully longer, life.
